About the ODDS study

The Obesity and Disease Development Sweden (ODDS) study is a nationwide pooled cohort of millions of men and women in Sweden with data on body size assessments (weight, height, and waist circumference in a subpopulation), linked to national registers. The aim of the study is to investigate various body size measures in relation to risk of morbidity and mortality. The study population is pooled from several cohorts and registers.

The data pooling and first data linkage was done in 2022 and a cohort profile of the ODDS study was published in 2024. Study updates are published in the blog updates!
