The Obesity and Disease Development Sweden (ODDS) study is a nationwide database of millions of men and women in Sweden with anthropometric information (such as BMI, waist circumference, and weight changes), linked to national registries. The aim is to study obesity in relation to risk of morbidity and mortality, with a particular interest in common and rare forms of cancer. The study population is pooled from several cohorts and registers and the large population size increases statistical power for sub-group analysis and rare disease outcomes.
The data pooling and linkage was initiated in 2022 with planned studies for the future coming years. Study updates will be published in the blog updates!
